What Is Ephemera Bound?
Our mix of books hopefully catches the works left behind by other publishers, either books that have fallen off the end of backlists or books from new or unproven authors.
In earlier days, pulp magazines and novels were the domain of new and unproven authors, who developed their craft before expanding into so-called 'real' books. The cheaper nature of the pulps made them 'ephemera,' something that's used and discarded. Our goal is to redevelop the pulpy genre, bringing back the kind of books that were once dominated by writers missed by the big publishers.

Newspaper boats are the perfect mix of adventure and ephemera: you take yesterday's news, fold it a few times, and it's ready to be launched in the nearest creek or ditch. The dual meaning of the word 'bound' could evoke either travel (
bound for parts unknown) or an integral part of a book (
bound as a hardcover), so here we have the meeting of the printed word and expeditions into the unknown, a nice pairing for how we want our publishing house to develop.
